Bio

Ekaterina Gomol was born in Russia. As a child she was always interested in art and painting. At the age of 7 in addition to her normal school studies she was attending classes at a Fine Art School.

After high school Ekaterina attended a Fine Arts College and graduated in 1994 with a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts.

Since 1995 she studied at the University of Arts and Art Education in Moscow, Russia and received Masters Degree in Fine Arts and Teaching.

Ekaterina learned art of painting under supervision of Honored Russian Artists. After graduating from the university she worked as a Teacher (of Painting\Drawing\Sketching) in a Private Lyceum of Arts.

Her works are kept in galleries and private collections in Russia, United States, Switzerland Canada and Hawaii.

Ekaterina's classical art skills are based on the richest traditions of Russian School Painting where realism and impressionism live and work together in chorus. It is a style that combines powerful realistic involvement with the soft and lyrical looseness of impressionism.

Ekaterina's great strength as an artist lies in her drawing ability, her zestful use of color, light and a wide range of subjects that interest her. She utilizes a lot of techniques and art tricks, which she took over from her famous art-masters.

«Art has always been an important part of my life.  My own art-touch can get modified similar as my mood or attitude changes. Life experience and fresh vivid impressions always bring something new, and it transforms into my artworks. Since I have been traveling more, I am incorporating images from my journeys. The images I paint come from within my own memory. As I reflect on these memories, I do not distinguish between reality and fantasy. I paint both as they present themselves to me. I hope that my paintings will transport you to a wonderful place tugging at the border of your own memory. »
